Baritone Carlton Ford, recent graduate of The Juilliard School, was recently heard as Demetrius in Britten’s Midsummer Night’s Dream. Previous engagements include Cappadocian in Strauss’ Salome, Uncle Yakuside in Madama Butterfly, and Schaunardohème at the Opera Theatre of St. Louis Opera where he has been engaged for the past three seasons. In 2008 Mr. Ford was featured on PBS’ Great Performances series, when he made his Stern Auditorium debut in the Opening Night Gala of Carnegie Hall under the baton of Michael Tilson Thomas. Mr. Ford has also been featured on the HBO series "Masterclass" with Maestro Placido Domingo. Other operatic credits include Dancaïro in Carmen and Hermann in Les Contes d’Hoffmann at the Chautauqua Institute. He has performed in recital with Brian Zeger and Mikael Eliasen; he has also been featured in several concerts with Steven Blier and the New York Festival of Song. His concert credits include Fauré’s Requiem, Händel’s Messiah and Bloch’s Sacred Service. This Fall, Mr. Ford will begin his master's studies at Rice University in Houston, TX.
